As a closing celebration of the site, Artify and Poetry for Thought have teamed up to present “Midway is Home” on Saturday, March 1, 2014, from 1 to 5 p.m. at 1333 University Ave. W, St. Paul, MN 55104.
The event is free and open to the public.
Poets and spoken word artists will come together and share work around the theme “Home is…”, “Affordable Housing”, and “Homelessness.”
The spoken word and poetry performances will be followed by a community discussion based on the following questions: What makes a place feel like home? … a neighborhood? … a community? What is the relationship between your places and your communities? How do we respond when our places begin to shift and change? How do we care for each other, the people in our neighborhoods?
Spoken word will be performed by Chava Gabrielle and Hasani Harris, with music by Davu Seru and Nathan Hanson.
Artify Project Installations include the “Home Is” knitted project by Nicole Infinity; “This Is Home” by Witt Siasoco and Mischa Keagan; “We Are A Village” by Julie Caruso; “What Does 108 Look Like” by Jon Reynolds and others.
Everyone is welcome and hot drinks will be served. Visit www.facebook.com/artifynow and www.facebook.com/poetryforthought.
