Circle Pines, Minn. (April 17, 2017) — Approximately 300 clergy and people of faith who live in Minnesota’s Sixth Congressional District will participate in a Moral Citizenship Forum from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 9185 Lexington Ave NE, Circle Pines, MN 55014.
The event, organized by ISAIAH, a faith-based civic action group, is a forum that is designed to discuss three critical issues of health care, immigration, and the environment. The moral choices of each and their inevitable impact on constituents will be examined. After several community members share their stories on these issues, faith leaders will ask elected officials to join respond in working against proposals that would harm their communities.
U.S. Rep. Tom Emmer (R-6) was invited to attend but not response has been given from his office at this time. The invitation was sent by several faith leaders including Rev. Steve Sylvester, who serves as the senior pastor at Our Savior’s Lutheran, and is a Lino Lakes resident.
For information about the forum contact Minister JaNaé Bates, ISAIAH communications director at 612-333-1260 ext. 213 or email [email protected].
