MINNEAPOLIS (Feb. 27, 2017) — The 11th Headscarf Society TeaLit community dialogue on healing for women and girls will be held Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the University of Saint Thomas School of Law 1000 LaSalle Avenue in Minneapolis.
Today, more than ever, women and girls of all ethnicities need to hear stories and meet others who inspire and demonstrate positive values. The 11th Headscarf Society TeaLit will feature eleven diverse women and girls who will share their own amazing and captivating stories of survival that will provide encouragement and inspiration to participants.
On the theme, “Healing and Unity for Community Building,” participants will get to relax, network, and listen to each other’s stories over a lovely three-course tea luncheon. The stories will explore faith, perseverance, trust and survival.
The event is complimentary; however, registration is required. It is sponsored by the University of Saint Thomas’ Office of Diversity and Inclusion.
Dr. Artika Tyner, associate vice president for Diversity & Inclusion at Saint Thomas, and Rose McGee, founder of Headscarf Society will be present.
