MINNEAPOLIS (Feb. 27, 2017) — The Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee (MNSBHC) and the National Football League invite local and diverse businesses in the region to attend the first Super Bowl LII Business Connect Workshop on Thursday, March 2 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at North Central University, 910 Elliot Ave S, Minneapolis MN, 55404.

The Super Bowl LII Business Connect Program aims to create contract and business development opportunities for local certified minority, woman, veteran, LGBT and disabled veteran-owned businesses.

The Business Connect Workshop on March 2 is the first of a series that will be hosted in Minnesota. Business owners in attendance will hear tips and gain insight from the NFL, MNSBHC and business professionals on what local businesses need to do to be ready when Super Bowl-related contract opportunities come their way. Local certification agencies will also be on hand.

“We are putting out a call to all diverse and locally owned business owners that want to take advantage of the opportunities that the Super Bowl will bring,” said Alex Tittle, Vice President of Business Connect and Corporate Affairs for the MNSBHC. “Minnesota has a strong local and diverse business community, and Super Bowl LII presents the perfect opportunity to showcase the unique products and talents our market has to offer. We’re looking forward to working with our business community, toward making Super Bowl LII a successful event for our visitors, our community and our local economy.”

Business Connect is the NFL’s diverse-supplier initiative. The program’s goal is to increase opportunities for qualified, experienced and certified local enterprises to conduct Super Bowl business, as well as to support individual business growth through networking events, educational and capacity-building programs.

The MNSBHC and the NFL launched the Super Bowl LII Business Connect Program last December at the University of St. Thomas, where hundreds of diverse and locally-owned businesses came to learn about contracting opportunities related to Super Bowl LII and how to become certified vendors.

Experienced local businesses interested in participating in the Super Bowl LII Business Connect program must apply by April 1, 2017. Businesses are encouraged to attend the workshop to learn more about the program.
