Brooklyn Park, Minn. (Feb. 28, 2017) — Online registration is open for the 4th Annual Community Forum on Race. The forum is scheduled for Saturday, March 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Brooklyn Park Community Activity Center, 5600 85th Ave. N.
The purpose of the event is to facilitate meaningful intergenerational and multi-racial conversations about race in our community, as well as surrounding communities.
The event will feature Alexs Pate as its keynote speaker. Pate is an award-winning American author, novelist, playwright, writing professor and president of Innocent Technologies, LLC. His work has received the Minnesota Book Award and Best First Novel by the Black Caucus of the American Library Association. He has also published a New York Times Bestseller.
