MINNEAPOLIS (Sept. 22, 2016) — The Minneapolis chapter of Women Against Military Madness on Wednesday, Sept. 28, at 7 p.m., will present Michel Chossudovsky, founder and director of Centre for Global Research, Canada, (globalresearch.ca) who will give a talk via Skype: “Global Economics, Terrorism and War” at 4200 Cedar Ave., Minneapolis. The event is free and open to the public.

The Centre for Research on Globalization (CRG), an independent research and media organization based in Montreal, Quebec. Globalresearch.ca (globalresearch.ca). Professor Chossudovsky will speak about the intersection of globalization, economics, and militarism, including revived threats of nuclear war as U.S./NATO military forces and weapons achieve close proximity to Russian and Chinese territory.

Dr. Chossudovsky has organized and participated in international justice and peace forums on several continents [most recently at the “Philippines Cebu Conference on ASEAN (the Association of Southeast Asian Nations) and the World” conference]. He has served as a consultant to international organizations and as an economic adviser to governments of developing countries.

Among his many awards, this year he was presented with the title of Doctor Honoris Causa in Humanities by Nicaragua’s largest public university, the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua, Managua, in recognition of his commitment to the “cause of freedom and universal justice,” as well as for his contributions to academic fields. A Professor of Economics (emeritus) at the University of Ottawa, Dr. Chossudovsky has taught in Western Europe, Southeast Asia, the Pacific, and Latin America. His most recent books are Toward a World War III Scenario: The Dangers of a Nuclear War, and The Globalization of War: America’s ‘Long War’ Against Humanity. His writings have been translated into 20 languages. Dr. Chossudovsky not only reveals disturbing truths, but also has ideas about reversing the tide of war.

From the outset of the post World War II period to the present, America’s global military design has been one of world conquest. War and globalization are intricately related. Militarization supports powerful economic interests. America’s “Long War” is geared towards worldwide corporate expansion and the conquest of new economic frontiers.”— Michel Chossudovsky, from the Preface to The Globalization of War.

Question and answer session with Dr. Chossudovsky follows discussion.
