I would like to express our sincere appreciation to my Representative Keith Ellison for cosponsoring House Resolution 343 and his encouraging messages for various Falun Dafa/Gong events for many years. The United States passed the resolution in June without objection.
H.Res.343 introduction states, “Expressing concern regarding persistent and credible reports of systematic, state-sanctioned organ harvesting from non-consenting prisoners of conscience in the People’s Republic of China, including from large numbers of Falun Gong practitioners and members of other religious and ethnic minority groups.”
Falun Gong or Falun Dafa is a traditional Chinese self-improvement practice that consists of gentle exercises and meditation, with an emphasis on the principles of truth, compassion and tolerance. It was publicly introduced in China in 1992, and became one of the most popular types of “qigong,” with as many as 70 – 100 million Chinese citizens.
On July 20,1999 the former Communist Party leader Jiang Zemin, who viewed the popularity as a threat, launched a persecution.
A new report followed, H.Res. 343 passing the US House. The researchers examined the transplant programs of hundreds of hospitals in China, drawing on media reports, official propaganda, medical journals and hospital websites including a vast number of deleted websites found in the Internet Archive.
The 680-page report outlines a picture of centralized, industrial-scale, state-directed organ transplantation, controlled through national policies and funding. The researchers estimate that actual transplant volume is closer to 60,000-100,000 per year since 2000. Full Report is at: EndOrganPillaging.org.
H.Res. 343 not only exposes the forced organ harvesting issue, it also gives hope for those living under an oppressive regime. Exposing and condemning the Chinese regime’s crimes against humanity will help end forced organ harvesting and save lives.
The Minnesota State Senate unanimously passed SF2090 on May 20, 2016.
Also, last but not least, we sincerely appreciate all Minnesotans who kindly signed the petition to end forced organ harvesting.
