4e5ef538-c2a4-45cf-97d3-2b61c4e6e3aeMINNEAPOLIS (July 22, 2016) — Come Learn Bon Odori with Japanese America Foundation of Minnesota from 6 to 7 :30 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2016 at Spring House Ministry Center, 610 W 28th Street, Minneapolis, MN.

Bon Odori, or Japanese festival dances, are usually performed by everyone in the community at summer festivals in Japan. JASM will offer everyone the chance to dance the Bon Odori at the Lantern Lighting Festival at Como Park in August.

Would you like to know how to do the dance before the festival?  Please join us on July 25th for a fun rehearsal party (with refreshments!) where a member of the Mikaharukai dance troupe will teach you the dances. With a just a little practice, you can become an expert Bon Odori dancer, so that you can show off your moves at the festival.

This is a free event for everyone but we would like to know many of you will be there, so please RSVP by filling out the sheet here.

Mikaharukai is looking for anyone who is interested in joining them for their performance at the festival.  If you are interested, please contact Junko Fillmer at 763-424-6315. You can also talk to her on July 25th as well.
