The Pan Asian Arts Festival is an opportunity to foster collaboration among Asian American & Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) performing arts/dance groups. Furthermore, the festival bridges all culture and create positive dialogues that embrace differences. Audiences will get to enjoy over 100 performances, Arts and Crafts, and food from the Asian regions and multimedia arts entertainment, including various Asian collections from most Asian countries and performances from other professional artists.
The Festival will have these activities: Pan Asian Performing Arts Demonstrations, ranging from North Asian Classic Music to South Asian Bollywood Style Dances; Arts/Crafts activities, which would relate to Asian festival characters, images and customs. Potential arts project include: Indian Henna; Asian Costume Try-on; Asian Story-telling; Chinese Calligraphy; Japanese Origami, etc; Arts Exhibition to present Asian artifacts–to share the origin and meaning behind the costumes with audiences, to enhance the experiential learning experience; Fusion Cuisine Tasting, food venders featuring their fusion dishes that combine varieties of ingredients from various cuisines and regions.
The Collaborative team, under the direction of PAAA, strives to engage individuals and diverse communities in appreciation of Pan Asian Arts. Since the team’s major goals are performing arts, social advocacy and community building, and each goal has its equal share; the team deems “education & inspiration” as important as the final events.
The purpose of the Pan Asian Arts Festival is to:
- inform PAAA’s supporters of the successes of the organization
- provide the opportunity to network with communities, artists, performers, and supporters
- recognize PAAA’s staff and committee members who work effectively to better communities in MN
- recognize the corporations and foundations who sustain PAAA and the community
- offer contributions and support for PAAA’s activities and its Programs
- celebrate PAAA’s successes and its constituents
The design of the project is to foster collaboration among Asian American & Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) performing arts/cultural groups and expose more cultural and arts activities during May Pan Asian Heritage Month with Pan Asian arts/cultural demonstrations free of charge, to support the communities with better access to diverse Pan Asian Arts/Customs and Cultures. While promoting a sense of unity, this project will also celebrate of rich cultural diversity within the vibrant local AAPI community with the Public.
