WASHINGTON, D.C. – OCA Asian Pacific American Advocate welcomes 2016 OCA National President, Dr. Leslie Moe-Kaiser.
At the conclusion of the January Meeting of its National Board of Directors, OCA – Asian Pacific American Advocates welcomed 2016 OCA National President, Dr. Leslie Moe-Kaiser to office. Dr. Moe-Kaiser has been a long time member of OCA, having previously served on the National Board of Directors, the Business Advisory Council and the Executive Council.
Recently retired after a distinguished career with State Farm, Dr. Moe-Kaiser brings a wealth of experience as a leader to the Office of the National President. Moe-Kaiser also has a long history serving on the boards of many leading Asian American and Pacific Islander non-profits.
“We are fortunate to have a person with Leslie’s blend of intellect, compassion, experience and management ability assume the leadership of the organization. As President, Leslie will continue to develop the organization and its thousands of committed volunteers to new professional heights. I consider myself lucky to have had Leslie as Executive Vice-President where she demonstrated the skills to successfully lead our organization on a daily basis.,” said Michael W. Kwan, outgoing OCA National President. “Leslie, OCA CEO Ken Lee, and the Executive Council comprise one of the strongest non-profit organization management teams in the nation.”
“I am honored to serve as National President,” said Dr. Leslie Moe-Kaiser, OCA’s incoming National President. “We have an exciting year of programs and an election year to galvanize our community advocacy efforts, and there are great possibilities on the horizon for what we can accomplish in 2016. With the tremendous energy of talented staff led by Ken Lee, we will continue OCA’s work as a pillar in the national Asian American and Pacific Islander community that began over 40 years ago.”
After concluding its most successful year ever, OCA looks to exceed the benchmarks set in 2015 where the organization exceeded its goals for its entire series of professional and youth development programs (APA-Y Advocate, APIA-U, B3 and MAAP), hosted over two dozen interns, and initiated a new civic engagement program. OCA looks forward to even greater successes in 2016 under the leadership of Dr. Leslie Moe-Kaiser.
