The Japan America Society of Minnesota together with Minnesota Film Arts are hosting a special screening of the film “Fritz: The Walter Mondale Story” on December 7, 2010, 7:00 p.m. at the Saint Anthony Theatre, 415 Main Street SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414. Director Melody Gilbert and Author Dave Hage, co-author of Mr. Mondale’s new book, “The Good Fight”, will be present to introduce the film and sign books.
“Fritz” tells the story of the life and legacy of Walter “Fritz” Mondale, former Vice President and former Ambassador to Japan, and among the greatest living Minnesotans.
By combining rare archival footage, family home videos, and interviews, the film depicts his life of public service revealing a man who never wavered in his commitment to civil and human rights. Mondale was once the Minnesota Attorney General and the U.S. Senator before serving as Vice President during the Carter administration and launching his own presidential bid in 1984.
Tickets are $7 for JASM members and guests; and $5 for students and seniors.
Melody Gilbert will be present at the screening to introduce the film and offer DVDs for sale at the price of $20. David Hage, co-writer of Mr. Mondale’s new book, The Good Fight, will also speak on the film and be available to sign books.
Introductions will begin at 7:00 pm. Celebrate the life and legacy of a man who has always believed in building bridges.
