Create CommUNITY will hold its 5th Annual “Continuing the Conversation on Race: Challenging Racism in Our lives in Communities” forum on Tuesday, October 12, 2010, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Mi Famiglia Regency Center, 912 St. Germain, St. Cloud, MN 56301. This luncheon forum is a new type of conversation with a diverse group of people and other community stakeholders. It is an opportunity to meet new people, and share each authentic viewpoint on living in the St. Cloud and Central Minnesota.

Business, civic and religious leaders will join other community members in exploring and deepening their understanding of the intersections of race with healthcare access, affordable housing, educational attainment, faith, immigration and economic development.

Central Minnesota is a growing, dynamic and rapidly diversifying community.  This conversation is a unique opportunity to build cross-cultural competency, while connecting authentically across race, class and culture.

The event is designed as a way for participants to expand understanding and knowledge about the challenges facing the community in which they work, live, study or do business. By coming together in fellowship it is hoped that a it will help build a healthy community in which all can thrive and achieve.

The cost is $15 and $5 for students to cover lunch. Registration is available by credit card online at www.stcloudareachamber.com. Or contact the St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce at PO Box 487, St. Cloud MN 56302-0487.
