ST. PAUL (August 21, 2010) – The Center for Hmong Arts and Talent held its 9th Annual Hmong Arts and Music Festival Satuday at Western Sculpture Park. With the theme “A Hmong Us” the festival again had arts and crafts of local Hmong artists that represents many perspectives of being “A Hmong” in America. There was also a juried winners tent.

This was the second year of the movie tent, where short and feature-length Hmong made films were played. There was also a band shell where new traditional and popular performers took the stage for the first time along with the polished performers and favorite bands of the community.

The free event has become a summer favorite as it increases the visibility and exposure of Hmong art to the broader community, while serving to bring diverse communities together in the St. Paul neighborhood. www.aboutchat.org
