White Bear Lake, Minn. (July 29, 2010) – The Century College Foundation has awarded 98 students with scholarships totaling $117,250 for the 2010-2011 academic year. There were six new scholarships and an additional 93 scholarships that were awarded through the Preparing to Achieve a College Education program.
The Asian American recipients include:
Foua Ly of Afton received a $1,500 Arlene and Ted Peterson Memorial scholarship.
Chi Tran of Blaine received a $1,500 Kopp Academic scholarship.
Jea Won Lee of Cottage Grove received a $1,500 Kopp Academic scholarship.
Gaonou Yang of Cottage Grove received a $750 Paul and Sheila Wellstone scholarship.
Hien Chu of Falcon Heights received a $500 General Student scholarship.
Cam Hong Tram of Lino Lakes received a $1,500 Kopp Academic scholarship.
He Nguyen of Little Canada received a $1,500 Arlene and Ted Peterson Memorial scholarship.
Shukri Ali of Maplewood received a $1,500 Kopp Cultural Diversity scholarship.
Phala Hoeun of North St. Paul received a $1,500 Otto Bock Orthotic and Prosthetic scholarship.
Monique Payan of Roseville received a $1,000 Teaching Circle scholarship.
Ying Lor of St. Paul received a $500 General Student scholarship.
Moon Soe of St. Paul received a $1,500 Kopp TRIO Achievement scholarship.
Chou Thao of St. Paul received a $1,500 Kopp Cultural Diversity scholarship.
May Vang of St. Paul received a $500 General Student scholarship.
Sia Vue of St. Paul received a $2,500 Kopp TRIO Achievement scholarship.
Chang Xiong of St. Paul received a $1,500 Kopp Cultural Diversity scholarship.
