TWIN CITIES (June 10, 2010) — The Vietnamese Community of Minnesota will hold its Annual Summer Festival on Saturday, July 31, 2010. This year’s Summer Festival will be held for the first time at the Wolfe Park Veteran’s Memorial Amphitheater, which is located at the heart of St. Louis Park. This FREE event is sponsored by the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council and the public is encouraged to attend this family friendly and cultural highlight of the summer.
The 2010 Summer Festival will include a live cultural entertainment segment featuring famous Vietnamese vocal artist Trish Thuy Trang from the Asia Entertainment, Greenfield Band and local talents. Other activities include sport competitions, a fashion show with the participation of former pageant winners, dances performed by local performing groups. This year, there is also a new and exciting watermelon eating contest.
The Vietnamese Community of Minnesota aims to educate and present the public a better understanding of the Vietnamese cultures through various activities and showcase organizations that exist within our local community in Minnesota.
