The National Hmong Grave Desecration Committee, an organization local and global Hmong civic leaders and entrepreneurs – working together on a solution to the grave desecration at Wat Tham Krabok, Thailand, will hold its 4th Annual Conference and Fundraising Reception next weekend in St. Paul. The meetings takes place at the same time as annual Hmong Sports Tournament on the July 4th weekend at Como Park – where the NHGDC will meet for three days, June 30, and July 1-2, 2010 at Lao Family Community, 320 E. University Avenue, St. Paul.

The first meeting on June 30, will have team members reviewing their work over the past year and updating to re-enforce operations, policies and procedures. The second meeting on July 1, will offer a chance for Hmong leaders and relatives of the deceased to offer input on the effort to pursue an agreeable response from the Thailand government and other parties involved in the grave desecrations.

The July 2 meeting is reserved for a community fundraising function to help support administrative expenses. There will be guests speakers and a team will also be present at the sports tournament and festival with a Q&A booth and to accept donations.

The NHGDC Executive Committee is asking Hmong leaders, the business community and individuals to pull together this year to support the cause that is no longer making headlines but is still a source of great pain and grief to victimized families.
