Japan is focusing on healthcare reform to meet the future challenges facing its rapidly aging population. The forum will explore what lessons in healthcare reform in Japan could be applied to the U.S. model. They will also look at what possible impact and opportunities will these reforms have on U.S. companies involved in the healthcare industry.
Dr. Naoki Ikegami is Professor and Chair of the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Keio School of Medicine. Dr. Ikegami is widely regarded as one of Japan’s top healthcare economists. He has been a visiting faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School and Medical School.
Ikegami has also served as a consultant to the WHO and the World Bank. He is a longtime associate of former U.S. Senator David Durenberger, also an authority on healthcare issues, who helped make this presentation possible.
