ST. PAUL (May 3, 2010) – I would like to congratulate a local Irondale High School student, Kong Hang, who is this year’s 12th grade Ordway Circle of Stars art contest winner. The Ordway Circle of Stars is a non-profit organization that supports the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts and hosts an annual art contest to celebrate the artwork of young artists. The sixth annual art contest invited students from across Minnesota in grades Pre K-12 to submit artwork based on the theme, Celebrating Community: Sharing Cultures, Building Friendships.
One student from each grade level had their artwork chosen as a winning piece, and all the winning artwork will be made into a poster. Kong Yang, along with the other winning students, will be honored at a reception in St. Paul on Friday, May 14 where Kong’s art and artist statement will be on display.
We’re lucky to have such a thriving art community in Minnesota that not only enriches the lives of all Minnesotans, but celebrates the work of such outstanding young artists like Kong.
Sincerely,
Satveer Chaudhary
