The community is invited to the Twin Cities premier World Tai Chi Qigong Day celebration April 24, 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Normandale Community College, 9700 France Avenue South, Bloomington. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from nationally known masters about  the power of healing energy through the ancient Chinese health and wellness practices of Tai Chi and Qigong. This event is free and open to the public.

In addition to compelling demonstrations, taiko drumming, celebratory dances and break-out sessions on an array of health and wellness topics, participants will have the opportunity to experience each of the four families of Tai Chi first hand – it is extremely rare to have Sun, Chen, Yang and Wu styles available in one place.

On hand to lead demonstrations and workshops will be Qigong Master Chunyi Lin, co-author of Born a Healer and founder of Spring Forest Qigong. Other experts will include Dr. Russ Smiley, one of 11 master trainers for Tai Chi for Arthritis in the U.S., and Jose Manuel Figueroa, one of the country’s premier internal Chinese martial arts competitors.

Registration is recommended. Call 952-487-7289 or online at www.normandale.edu/continuingEducation/articles-events-and-promotions/special-events/What_is_WTCQD.cfm.
