Washington, DC [CapitalWirePR – April 19, 2010) – The Minority Business RoundTable and the U.S. Department of Energy have renewed a Memorandum of Understanding.“On behalf of the Obama-Biden Administration and Secretary Steven Chu’s Department of Energy, I am pleased to renew the Memorandum of Understanding between the Minority Business RoundTable and the U.S. Department of Energy,” said Joe Garcia, Director, Office of Economic Impact & Diversity which oversees DOE’s Small Business Office.
“This is an affirmation of our continued partnership to promote and enhance business opportunities for you and your clients,” he added. “The objective of this MOU is to formalize the participation of MBRT in DOE contracting opportunities during the Obama-Biden Administration and enhance our Nation’s economy through a sustainable relationship between small and disadvantaged businesses, MBRT and DOE.”
The MOU calls for DOE to review all acquisition requirements for small business opportunities, maintain and forecast business prime and subcontract opportunities, support procurement and outreach conferences, and provide ongoing status reports. MBRT will “match” DOE procurement opportunities to its membership, advise DOE on strategies for increasing prime and subcontracting opportunities, and participate as a member of the DOE National Small Business Advisory Council.
