The Minnesota International Center presents a luncheon forum with Ichiro Fujisaki, Japanese Ambassador to the United States on Monday, May 10, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Radisson Plaza Hotel, 3rd Floor Ballroom, 35 South Seventh Street, Minneapolis. Ambassador Fujisaki will speak on U.S. – Japanese Relations – exploring current issues related to security, economics, politics and cultural exchanges.Prior to his present appointment, Mr. Fujisaki served as Japanese Ambassador to the United Nations and the World Trade Organization, and has represented Japan in Jakarta, Paris (OECD) and London. In the ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tokyo, he has held such posts as Deputy Director-General for Asian Affairs and for North American Affairs before being appointed Deputy Foreign Minister. He has also served as the Sherpa, or personal representative, of the Prime Minister to G8 Summit meetings.

Mr. Fujisaki was a research associate at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London, taught as a lecturer of International Relations at Sophia University in Tokyo, and speaks fluent English and French.
