St. Paul, Minn. (March 15, 2010) – Minnesota businesses will have an opportunity to explore trade opportunities and develop business contacts during a Minnesota Trade Office business development mission to Vietnam May 7-15.U.S. export sales to Vietnam grew more than 11 percent in 2009, and are now more than $3.1 billion. The increase is due in part to the Vietnamese government’s efforts to improve infrastructure and develop the country’s manufacturing sector.

Potential events during the mission will include marketing and government briefings, site visits, customized business matchmaking, visiting an industry tradeshow, and networking receptions.

MTO, an office of the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED), is focused on increasing state export sales in foreign markets. The MTO promotes international trade by providing export information, export education and training, and one-on-one counseling to Minnesota companies that wish to sell manufactured goods and services in the international marketplace.
