ST. PAUL (March 27, 2010) – The Hoàng Thiên Y has opened a second location at 371 University Avenue in St Paul.
The Vietnamese restaurant opened a few weeks ago in the former Maly’s Asian Deli. The original Hoàng Thiên Y Restaurant has been running for seven years and is still open and operating at 2738 Nicollet Avenue S., Minneapolis.
The restaurant is operated by Hung Tran, along with Chao To, Lang To and her son Tony, a Kennedy High School student.
Tony, who works the restaurant on weekends, said the restaurant is known for its Pho, but also its Duck Noodle Bamboo Soup, Noodle Egg roll and Grilled Pork, and for its Special Rice. He said they it is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and that they want it to be a place where people feel comfortable to dine in or to just grab a baguette sandwich to go. He said it is also a friendly place to stop for coffee or tea and chat with the owners.
