Film producer Curtis Chin will be present for the screening of the documentary movie, “Vincent Who?” on Wednesday, March 24 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at 330 Anderson Hall University of Minnesota (West Bank) 257 19th Avenue SE, Minneapolis, MN 55455.Chin is requesting that progressive AAPI’s in Minnesota attend the screening of this film that looks at the historic hate crime murder of Vincent Chin in Detroit on June 23, 1982 by autoworkers upset with Japanese competition. It also examines the state of AAPI political empowerment since that time and the present. Chin is taking the film to several schools in Minneapolis from March 21-27 and would like to meet with local progressive AAPI’s interested in forming a chapter of Asian Pacific Americans for Progress www.apaforprogress.org.
