MINNEAPOLIS (Oct. 16, 2013) — The Hot Chocolate series, dubbed “America’s Sweetest Race,” is headed to Minneapolis on April 19, 2014. The 15/5k race through downtown combines the city’s chilly spring weather with hot chocolate and fondue. Additional information on the event and registration is available at hotchocolate15k.com.
Hot Chocolate kicks off with the 5k (3.1 miles) at 7.45 a.m, followed by the 15k (9.3 miles) at 8:30 a.m. RAM Racing, the event’s organizers, will have hot chocolate and other treats on hand after runners have crossed the finish line. All Hot Chocolate participants will also receive a drawstring goodie bag filled with a fleece technical hoodie. Participants are invited to the Hot Chocolate Expo on the Thursday and Friday prior to the race, where they can pick up their race packets using a quick, electronic system.
Hot Chocolate’s official charity partner for the Minneapolis event is Ronald McDonald House Charities, which provides housing and other supplies for the families of sick children. Hot Chocolate’s goal is to raise $1 million across 13 cities for Ronald McDonald House Charities.

The Hot Chocolate 15/5K race series debuted in 2008 in Chicago, and has rapidly expanded to 13 cities and an estimated 150,000 participants this season.
