ST. PAUL — A voter’s guide with the question, ‘Who represents the $20 billion in economic interests of Minnesota ALANA (African Latino Asian and Native American) communities?’ is now available.
In this guide you will find data for Minnesota as well as for Congressional and legislative districts. For example, Congressional Dist 5 has ALANA economic interests over $3 billion. House District 65 A has ALANA economic interests close to $500 million. Senate District 59 has ALANA economic interests of close to $800 million.
This was the same question posed to the Court Redistricting panel when ALANA presented data and a redistricting map (OneMN and coalition with Brett Buckner). The Court offered great representation of ALANA economic interests in the new Congressional and legislative seats. Now ALANA needs to ask those seeking office in those seats how well they are representing these interests and what is their long term plans to grow the ALANA assets they represent?
The voter guide with data by Congressional and legislative district and for statewide offices can be found at www.alanaassets.org.
Also there is an opportunity to sign the ALANA pledge – that you will vote for candidates who will best represent ALANA economic interests and who commits to adopting a long term plan to grow these assets. Also candidates can indicate their commitment at the site too.
