Health, Happiness and Longevity
MINNEAPOLIS (Dec. 22, 2015) — In the Sengupta method of science of healing there is a definite link between happiness and longevity, which the recent Lancet study on happiness and longevity might not be aware of in their analysis or critical clinical observation. Remember that stress and being out of control are two different things, and in my principle of healing in medicine, developing a higher self-regulation is the key to both health and longevity.
A yoga therapy that I designed gives nerve-muscle and mind-body integration to not only lower physical and mental stress but also systematically improve the brain states and homeostasis for mind-body integration to solve anxiety, depression, emotional challenges and unhappy mental states as part of new branch of medicine called Mind-Body Medicine. It is true all unhappy brain states may not cause automatic accelerated mortality but it will degrade the quality of life to essentially create bigger hopelessness in cases of a specific health challenge or chronic illness where even modern medical treatment will not be effective or efficient to perfectly solve the problem.
Therefore in chronic heath challenges both physical and mental nature, the longevity which Ayurvedic medicine calls “AYU” will deteriorate faster. By mastering the Sengupta-protocol based higher brain-state of living skills health happiness and longevity can be achieved. The definition of happiness in my method is not the same as most general opinions or definition of happiness or unhappiness adopted in recent Lancet research study on happiness and longevity.
In Ayurvedic medicine the word “Ayu” means both total span of life and therefore Ayurveda includes both medical knowledge and wisdom of inner-peace and happiness related to longevity of life. None can deny that a peaceful brain state and a happy brain state can have corresponding neuro-physiological and brain-chemistry related changes. Now once we see those physiological and chemical markers consistent with both peaceful brain state and happy brain state then we will conclude they my method of cultivating peaceful brain-state and happy brain state can, and will not only improve longevity but also help reverse or accelerate the healing process irrespective of what modalities of care one may adopt in the 21st century.
Remember surveys of people suffering from sickness and their self-described state of unhappiness or happiness is different from the systematically learning physiologically that is significant to self-regulation for better organ function, relaxation, inner-peace and balance in chemical and electrical signal processing in the brain. To regain longevity completely differentiate my method of optimal health from the Million Women study in Britain.
Time to utilize my concept of Mind-Body Medicine for health, happiness and longevity. If the definition of happiness model in my method is adopted by the international community while doing such a research study then we will succeed bringing clarity to approaching the science of healing in medicine in the 21st century.
Unfortunately, illness can be faced by any individual both male and female but a person with an unhappy state of mind will struggle more than a person with happy brain state. Therefore a happiness state is a positive influence to recover from sickness and those who cannot master how to maintain a higher brain state will more likely struggle during depression, anxiety and other mental challenges as much as chronic physical illness.
Therefore, suggesting that unhappiness does not make you ill is an impractical way to begin looking at both the long-term quality of health and longevity. Unfortunately, Western psychology is dominating mainstream medicine today, and the Hindu concept of psychology also offers possible improvement not only longevity but also to quality of health care and mental health care in the 21st century.
Time to utilize ancient Hindu psychology and advancement of our ancient knowledge of psychology that is consistent with modern needs of our current health care system. Western psychology is good at naming a problem or a disease far better than teaching a person how to develop a higher brain state from an early age to help prevent many chronic physical and mental health challenges. To integrate Hindu psychology is not only a higher wisdom of health and longevity but also offers systematic therapy or treatment without medications that essentially slow brain function and prevents ability to achieve a higher brain state.
Modern India, like many modern societies in the East and West is facing a health care crisis by imitating, blindly, the western model of education in the discipline specifically psychology and psychiatry to go further away from our ancient wisdom of higher-brain state cultivating path of living and thinking. My model can help advance both main-stream Allopathic medicine as well as all other modalities of natural, alternative, complementary and holistic health care systems including Ayurvedic medicine due to perfect integration of ancient Hindu medical science and modern neuro-science, anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, biophysics, Mind-Body medicine.
Without knowing the quantum mechanical events in the biological system quantum healing will be just some pseudo-scientific Jargon nothing else. My method of science of healing in medicine will help establish a convergence of humanity to experience clarity of thought and understanding of happiness and health. Integrated healing can benefit both the modern Eastern and Western societies struggling with stress and unhappy competitive and highly challenging life-style and offer best hope for health, happiness and longevity in the 21st century.
