WASHINGTON, D.C. (Dec. 20, 2012) — The National Council of Asian Pacific American (NCAPA) officially launched the Presidential Appointments Project webpage (www.ncapaonline.org/appointments) to identify and endorse qualified and diverse candidates of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AA & NHPI) descent for positions within the Obama Administration. The Project will serve as a talent bank for professionals seeking opportunities to serve in the public arena and improve our federal government’s policies and processes.
Community members with at least three years of relevant work experience are encouraged to submit their resume and application for consideration for NCAPA’s endorsement. In addition to full-time appointed positions, there are opportunities to serve on boards, advisory committees and grant reviewing groups across the country.
To date, the Obama Administration has appointed over 60 AA& NHPIs to senior-level positions in the executive branch. NCAPA seeks to ensure qualified, committed and talented members of the AA & NHPI community have a fair shot at being appointed to important positions.
