CHICAGO – Senator Harry Reid met with Las Vegas Asian American and Pacific Islander leaders to discuss President Barack Obama’s vision to create an economy built to last, and the negative impacts of the Romney-Ryan Budget.
Senator Reid also discussed what President Obama has accomplished for the AAPI community, and the role the AAPI community will have in reelecting the President.
“Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders were leaders in 2008 to get President Obama elected and now we must stand together again to ensure that the American Dream is protected for the next generation. President Obama is working to put all Americans back to work in an economy built to last and to restore middle-class security for all families.
He is committed to continuing to fight for policies that give every Americans, no matter their background, the opportunity to succeed. But if we are to succeed we need to work together to make sure we give President Obama more time to work for our communities—and that means we each have to do our part by getting involved in this campaign,” said Senator Harry Reid after the event.
President Obama, who spent his childhood in Hawaii and Indonesia, has deep ties to the Asian American and Pacific Islander community and understands the unique challenges it faces. From investing in education, to tax cuts to help small businesses grow, to providing quality and affordable health care, the President’s record demonstrates his true commitment to working and middle class families.
