SPRINGFIELD, Va. (June 6, 2013) — Starting from June 6, 2013, the Vietnam Film Club officially releases the DVD and Youtube version of “The Soul of Vietnam”, The Vietnamese National Flag and Anthem.
The production is meant to give an in-depth look at the history of the Vietnamese flag, three red stripes against a yellow background, which is now universally flown in the Vietnamese Diaspora around the world. It also contains the story of the Vietnamese national anthem called “The Citizens March.”
This film is also aimed at young Vietnamese who are more comfortable with English than their native Vietnamese. It will help them connect to their roots and provide solid historical evidence regarding the background of both the Vietnamese national flag and anthem. An ideal source for papers on these topics.
“We also hope that the film will be used as material for the individual or organization is lobbying the local government to issue resolutions recognizing the yellow flag with three red stripes are a symbol of freedom, and is Heritage communist Vietnamese refugees,” said the film producers in a press release.
The film is also meant to be introduced to public libraries, schools and universities. The first phase is limited in the number of DVDs in order to meet the requirements of students and the libraries.
