LITTLE CANADA, Minn. (Dec. 14, 2015) — Kaying Thao, outgoing Roseville School Board member and Little Canada resident, announced Monday that she will seek the Democratic Farmer Labor endorsement for the Minnesota House of Representatives in District 42B.
State House District 42B is currently represented by State Rep. Jason Isaacson (DFL), who was first elected in 2012 and won reelection in 2014. Isaacson recently announced his intention to seek a Minnesota Senate seat.
“I want to thank Rep. Isaacson for his service in the House of Representatives,” Thao said.
“After thoughtful consideration and encouragement from family and friends, I am announcing my candidacy for State House,” she said. “I look forward to running a strong, grassroots campaign and earning the support of my fellow Minnesotans. My top priorities are economic security for working families, access to quality education, and building a sustainable transportation infrastructure for our district.”
Thao, 37, is the daughter of refugee immigrants, has lived in Roseville for over 20 years and graduated from Roseville Area Public Schools, the University of St. Catherine and Metropolitan State University, where she earned a master’s degree in public and nonprofit administration.
