St. Paul, MN—Hmong College Prep Academy (HCPA, formerly Hmong Academy), a St. Paul-based K-12 charter school that provides Twin City students with a rigorous college prep curriculum, will be hosting their annual World Culture Day Celebration on Wednesday, November 23rd.
“World Culture Day is always a special time at Hmong College Prep Academy,” stated Hmong Academy Superintendent Dr. Christianna Hang. “Our students have been working very hard to prepare for their performances. We’re really looking forward to seeing our enthusiastic group of students show us their talents.”
The event is a morning-long celebration of Hmong and world cultured through traditional music, dance and food. World Culture Day will also feature a fashion show and performances from the HCPA Choir.
New to the Celebration this year is the presentation of the Hmong College Prep Academy Heritage Award. This award will be given to students who have shown a 5-year commitment to the mission and vision of Hmong College Prep Academy. These students have developed and nurtured pride within the rich heritage of Hmong culture through language literacy, the arts, and traditional values.
HCPA Cultural Heritage Day will begin at 9:00 AM and run until approximately 11:30. A Hmong-inspired lunch will then follow from 11:30-1:00. For more information, interested parties can contact the school at 651.209.8002.
Hmong College Prep Academy is located at 1515 Brewster Street in St. Paul, just southeast of the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.
