Saint Paul Public Library customers now have access to online magazines from Zinio. Full digital copies of nearly 100 popular magazines are available, including Consumer Reports, Newsweek, Clean Eating, O—The Oprah Magazine, Men’s Health, Hot Rod, Economist, Esquire, and more.
“We’re always exploring new ways to connect customers to digital content. The demand for downloadable books, music, and audio books increases daily,” said John Larson, Digital Library Manager. “We’re very pleased to add magazines to our popular online services.”
Customers can subscribe to a magazine through the library, receive an e-mail when the latest issue is available, and download the magazine to read on a computer, tablet, or mobile device. There are no subscription limits and no due dates.
The initial registration process requires creating two accounts—an SPPL-Zinio account to browse available magazines, and a free Zinio.com account for subscribing to and reading magazines. Registration instructions are at www.sppl.org/research/zinio.
Zinio magazines may be read on a wide variety of apps for computers and mobile devices, including apps for PC or Mac, iPhone or iPad, Android devices, Kindle Fire, and Blackberry Playbook. Customers who use devices that don’t have an app available can view magazines online in the device’s web browser. Customers should complete the registration process before downloading and registering their app.
