ST. PAUL, Minn. (May 6, 2011) – The Schubert Club and the Dakota Foundation for Jazz Education announced the three 2011 winners of the Jazz Piano Scholarships.
Nicholas Lee, an 18 year-old senior from Randolph, New Jersey High School won the 2011 Jane Matteson Scholarship Award. Lee’s instructor is Donald Vega of Bronx, NY.
Sterling Overshown, a 17 year-old junior from the High School for Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, TX, won the 2011 David Paulus Scholarship Award. Overshown’s instructor is Warren Sneed of Houston.
Quentin Tschofen, a 17 year-old Robbinsdale, Minn. high school senior with the University of Minnesota PSEO – Spring Lake Park Lighthouse Program, won the 2011 Marie Froelich Scholarship Award. Tschofen’s instructor is Bryan Nichols of Minneapolis.
