Germantown, MD (March 16, 2012) — It’s time to fight fire with fire after Rush Limbaugh (RL) unfairly attacked Sandra Fluke, a law student at Georgetown University by calling her a slut, prostitute, round-heeled (a woman who sleeps with a lot of different men; it comes from the image of being on your back in the missionary position” of lovemaking) and promiscuous for defending the rights of a woman to make decisions regarding her body and its functions. His pontifications from the bully pulpit are all lies to hide his doubts about his own virility and masculinity.
In the process, he is venting his anger towards and frustrations against women. What is good for the gander is good for the goose. But most of all he makes these outrageous statements to be “hated” by his listeners to garner attention. He acts like a jerk because he wants his audience to take notice of his antics. What a disgusting retard! Now the retard is having a rough time.
Access to contraception is therapeutic for many women and prevents abortion for some, which is the major concern of most of them (60 percent), and not birth control to prevent pregnancy. That misconception has been perpetuated by men who want to define morality for others, especially the female population, e.g. definition of marriage, anti-miscegenation laws, among others. The only way to effect a coup de grace on Rush Limbaugh and his allies at Fox is to hit them where it hurts the most—in their pocketbooks by boycotting these companies that advertise in his radio program.
In this society, money talks and these sexual deviants have underestimated the women’s power. Many (80+ in the latest count) have already pulled out their ads, e.g., Sleep Train, Sleep Number, Legal Zoom, Zitrix, Quicken Loans, Pro Flowers, KPUA in HI, All State, Bonobos, Tax Resolution, Carbonite, Geico, Capital One, Vitacost, John Deere, Service Magic, Nova Armament, Sensa, Network Capital, Netflix, Right Size, Bethesda Sedation Industry, AOL/Tech Guru et al. Of the 86 ads left, 77 are PSAs (Public Service Announcements).
Electing more women to office is a counterforce against these Republican right-wing, anti-women, intolerant and controlling evangelists of doom and gloom. 2012 is the Year of the Woman, and there are 156 million of them in the US. Picking a fight with them was RL’s biggest mistake. There is no doubt that 2012 is his Waterloo.
Rush Limbaugh is a political commentator, radio host, college drop-out, alleged closet homosexual who was fired from KQV Radio for soliciting a man in Pittsburgh and synthetic heroin (oxycontin) use. He has a history of denying and balking at rumors that are later revealed to be true. His mentor in the radio world (Norm Woodruff) died of AIDS.
He attended Southeast Missouri U. where he had an affair with Eliot Sanders and revealed, “that none of his marriages was ever consummated.” He also has a “penchant for child pornography.” He is the Grand Dragon of the GOP, the Chief Enforcer of GOP orthodoxy but shies from any invitation to debate an issue unless he is in control. He has proven himself to be mediocre on the few occasions (before he learned his lesson) he was on an even footing with an opponent in a public debate. He will not accept an invitation to debate; he can only carry on a disingenuous monologue with a clique of pre-screened callers.
RL doesn’t have the credentials to talk about substantive topics in his show. If you disagree with him, he resorts to hitting below the belt (the standard modus operandi of an ignoramus), histrionics and name-calling. His attention was called earlier by Campbell Brown on MSNBC to stick to the issue (No Bias, No Bull), avoid abusive terms against a person because they undermine anything constructive one might have to say. His meanness distracts the audience from the issue at hand, and he never comes up with ideas. Instead he resorts to nasty rhetoric and useless noise.
When asked how he could come up with some solution to help provide jobs in this country or help workers hold on to their jobs or feed their family, his response amounted to rants with no substance at all. RL gets peeved when someone is smarter, better and more accomplished than he is. He had to make these boorish comments that make him sound a repulsive, self-absorbed twit. Just leave him to his misery. An overweight buffoon!
The popularity and charisma of Pres. Clinton enabled RL’s hate-filled show to appeal to millions of bitter American conservatives. His unique combination of lies and theatrics provided a sense of unity from otherwise incompatible demographics, such as Klansmen and Wall Street stock brokers. By the mid-1990s his promoters had co-opted his show to enough nationwide syndicates to claim RL was the “most popular radio personality” in the country.
Technically, this was false. However, the free handout of his show to any station that wanted it resulted in his being the most-listened-to-man on A.M. radio. Inspired by Clinton-induced vitriol, he paid a ghost-writer to author for him several books, e.g., See I Told You So (1992), Nanny Nanny, Boo Boo (1993), I’m Rubber. You’re Glue. Whatever You say Bounces Off Me and Sticks to You (1994).
The fundamental problems of RL’s perspective — First, he considers himself an expert on whatever flows from his mouth. He is neither a financial expert nor an economist. Second, the evidence of tax cuts’ lack of effectiveness is deep and wide, from the much ballyhooed Reagan years — income tax revenues never grew to match the cuts—to the Bush years from which we should have seen income tax revenues leap, given the depth and width of the tax cuts. And lest we fall for the canard about “tax revenues jumping up the month after Reagan signed his signature bill, he also doubled FICA withholding taxes to shore up Social Security benefits.
Interestingly, the times when we’ve actually balanced budgets and run surpluses, rare though they have been, have always followed times when income tax rates went up! Taking RL as worth more than the heat of his air is giving him too much credence!
If everyone just ignores the likes of Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Bill O’Reilly, Ann Coulter, and other sexist and racist talking heads, they would just go away. They only want to be seen and heard. We do not have time nor can we afford to waste time to listen to hate-mongers.
Hopefully, the FCC will impose strict guidelines on this detestable crowd and their TV or radio programs. They want to talk and give evidence but do not have a clue on what to do. If they did, they had eight years to fix the mess before it got worse. Can we trust Rush Limbaugh’s cabal of miserably divorced, lying, impotent, Viagra-dependent, depressed old white males like him? This group is bad news for the country.
Limbaugh’s logic is tarnished and perverse. How can anyone listen to this intellectual midget? Don’t you get tired and bothered by his hate-filled twist of facts, his continued denigration of women (because he prefers men in his personal relations), his bigotry, his over-inflated ego and his complete lack of moral integrity?
What is bothersome is the whole issue of women’s rights under attack by Republicans for so long after the 2010 Tea Party sweep of an issue that has been resolved is now in the spotlight again as if there’s actually some big controversy among every day Americans. There is nothing controversial about contraception, even though Republicans are trying to create one because they cannot attack BHO anymore on the economy. It’s time to retire most of them from public service, from Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) to Rep. Allen West (R-FL).
Berating and shaming Sandra Fluke three hours every day for three days and taking only 20 seconds to apologize is unacceptable! Besides, everyone knows he did it only to hold on to his sponsors. Where are the Republican women who could not defend one of their own being savaged by an obnoxious goon? Their silence is more worrisome than that of their male counterpart in the GOP.
Who is qualified among them to replace their “chairman” to whom they pay homage and adulate in fear to win his good grace and avoid his displeasure? It is interesting to know that Clear Channel Communications, the company that owns the radio station that broadcasts Rush Limbaugh, was taken private in 2009 by Bain Capital, Mitt Romney’s company from which he receives $20 million each year. It explains his silence on RL. Where are the insurers?
Birth control represents a form of preventive medicine which saves them a lot of money that would either go to pay for abortions or for other OB/GYN services. Even Fox News provides contraception for its female employees.
His apology came in too little too late after he realized what it would do to his bank account if company sponsors pull out of his radio program. There is no remorse there. It was made purely for financial reasons. He doesn’t want to see his income jeopardized by his meanness and stupidity. This is another case of talk is cheap. There was no humor in his comments about, only stinging verbal attacks against, Ms. Fluke. He is a real turd, a poor excuse for a human being.
They were made to destroy a person, a woman’s reputation, and he should not he be allowed to get off easily. It’s the same strategy that Ann Coulter uses when she is taken to task for her malicious lies — she was just kidding! He has shown us that he is a national disgrace. It is a sad commentary on our society that this loathsome misogynistic bullyrag has an audience.
Who are these people who listen to his garbage? The only explanation for this is that they are mossbacks, mentally unchallenged idiots that agree with him. The biggest tragedy of all is that that there are many Republicans who have no balls and allow themselves to be cowed by this filthy-mouthed coward and they look the other way when he spews out his vile hate.
