MINNEAPOLIS — Japan America Society of Minnesota will present the annual New Year’s Festival, Shinnenkai 2014, on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hopkins Eisenhower Community Center, 1001 Minnesota Highway 7, Hopkins, MN 55305.
The fun,family-friendly event brings the sights, tastes, and
sounds of the Japanese New Year to Minnesota. Take this chance to experience a little bit of Japan without leaving Minnesota.
This cultural experience will be sure to delight all the members of your family as you take advantage of this chance to welcome in the New Year by experiencing this wonderful Japanese tradition.
The event will feature cultural booths, a silent auction, performances, children’s activities, delicious Japanese food, an Oriental bazaar and more.
Like most JASM events, the Shinnenkai will not be possible with out the support of our wonderful JASM members. JASM is looking for volunteers and would really appreciate your help in making this year’s Shinnenkai a success. By volunteering, you will receive complimentary admission to the event.

Donations to the Oriental Bazaar are greatly appreciated. These items will be sold to help spread Japanese culture to those attending and will help JASM to continue growing through the new year. If you are interested in donating, please contact the JASM office either through the phone or email.
Admission is $15 for adult non-members, and $10 for college students and seniors. Children age 6-18 pay $5, and children ages 5 and under get in free. There is a $25 family package for two adults and two children in same household.
