On Full moon day, lay practitioners have the opportunity to observe the special eight precepts and to acquire merits by performing Dana (Generosity), Sila (Morality) and Bhavana (Meditation). In addition, they also get an opportunity to listen a dhamma talk and to participate in the Discussion which provides an opportunity to acquire a deeper understanding of the Buddhist teachings. Other lay practitioners who are not taking the eight precepts are also invited to come to the Vihara and participate in the service.
