ST. PAUL — Shades of Yellow (SOY) recently hired a new part-time Program Coordinator.
Zong Yang is currently an undergraduate student enrolled in the Sociology Law Criminal Deviance program at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. After three years of involvement with SOY as a LGBTQ-identified volunteer, he has joined SOY as a Program Coordinator in 2013.
His primary focus includes working closely with SOY Board members and Leadership Team to develop new programs, coordinate events, facilitate workshops and sustain programs to create positive social change that empowers and liberates API LGBTQ individuals.
Prior to his association with SOY, Zong pursued higher education at Minnesota’s Saint Paul College and graduated with an Associates Arts Degree in the Spring of 2012. Zong currently resides in the Twin Cities and plans to pursue a Law Degree to further advance justice for our communities.

SOY is currently seeking artists to lead an arts and culture-based approach to engaging the Hmong Asian Pacific Islander (HAPI) LGBTQ community and to lead arts-based programming at our 10th annual SOY New Year in March 2014.
