ST. PAUL — Macalester professor Ahmed Samatar will talk about the challenges of successful adaptation in his lecture, “Many Voices, One Minnesota: The Somali People”, on Sunday, November 16, at 2 p.m., at Ramsey County Library, 2180 Hamline Ave. N., Roseville, MN 55126.

With the onset of civil war in the African nation of Somalia in 1990s, the Twin Cities became a center for Somali refugees. Twenty-five years later, the community includes business people, legislators, professors, even an Oscar-nominated actor—as well as others who continue to have difficulties in their adjustment.

This program is one of several that the Ramsey County Library is presenting on the history of some of the diverse groups that make up our area in the 21st century. For a complete list of programs visit our website at www.rclreads.org. For more information call 651-486-2200.

Come and meet your neighbors! Everyone is welcome. Supported by Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
