The Lao Assistance Center of Minnesota has invited the community to join them November 18th for the Distinguished Visiting Scholar Series on Health Disparities. Their speaker will be Moon Chen, Jr., PhD, MPH of University of California, Davis.
Dr. Chen leads the largest project ever undertaken to curb cancer in Asian Americans. Known as the Asian American Network for Cancer Awareness, Research and Treatment (AANCART), the national program is based at UC Davis Cancer Center and funded by the National Cancer Institute as part of an effort to reduce ethnic disparities in cancer. Dr. Chen specializes in developing linguistically specific, culturally tailored and population-based health interventions. He also serves as Associate Director for Cancer Control at UC Davis Cancer Center.
