MINNEAPOLIS — The Center for Asian Pacific Islanders — CAPI USA — announced this week that CAPI’s garden project is a winning entry in the 2011 Gardens for Good contest and will receive a $22,000 grant from Nature’s Path Organic.
The Gardens for Good grant will help CAPI’s immigrant and refugee constituents create new neighborhood gardens and make improvements to existing gardens in 2012. “Like” CAPI USA on Facebook to follow the progress on the Garden Project.
More importantly, this would not have been possible without your enthusiasm and your efforts to get votes for CAPI. CAPI’s entry received over 7,200 votes and was one of only three winners out of nearly 100 entries from the United States and Canada.
CAPI USA thanks supporters for a commitment that continues to attract nationwide recognition and funding for CAPI’s work.
This shows that we can succeed when everyone participates and is a cheerleader for CAPI’s work and mission. CAPI USA’s mission is to guide refugees and immigrants in the journey towards self-determination and social equality.
