HARTFORD, CT. (March 10, 2012) — Three-time U.S. Olympic women’s hockey medalist and all-time NCAA women’s leading scorer Julie Chu, is now enshrined in the Connecticut Hall of Fame.

The honor came last Saturday with six other male players during a Hartford Whalers hockey game at the Sports & Entertainment complex, which houses the Hall of Fame. Chu is the first female to receive the honor with six men who played or worked in professional hockey.

Julie Chu, a member of the U.S. National Women’s Hockey Team and three time Olympic team member, including the 2010 Silver Medal team, sent a comment on Jessica Wong, the freshman at the University of Duluth who was featured in the April 9, 2010 Issue of Asian American Press as a member of the national champion UMD Women’s Hockey team.

Duluth, Minn. (March 26, 2010) –  Jessica Wong emerged from freshman anonymity to become a school hero on March 21, when she scored the game-winning goal to make the University of Minnesota at Duluth the 2010 Women’s Hockey National Champions of the National Collegiate Athletic Association tournament.
