The Los Angeles Dodgers celebrated Japanese-American Community Night this week by honoring several members of the Japanese-American community of the area. A ceremony was held on the Dodger Stadium field during pregame events, honoring several individuals including Consul General of Japan Junichi Ihara.

WOODBURY, Minn. (May 28, 2010) – The Minnesota – Sri Lanka Friendship Foundation has done much to support the native land – to rebuild in the aftermath of the tsunami, and now with the end of its decades long civil war. But its baseball that has now captured the imagination of the sports loving nation – and an local effort has begun to help equip youth that are quickly rising to the par of their international peers.

SAN FRANCISCO (May 18, 2010) – As part of the continued partnership with San Francisco Hep B Free and the San Francisco Giants in May, first baseman Travis Ishikawa, San Francisco Assessor-Recorder Phil Ting, San Francisco Hep B Free Co-Founder Janet Zola, and Saint Francis Memorial Hospital’s Dr. Ming Tsang urged fans to ask their personal physicians to test them for hepatitis B.

The 2010 Major League Baseball season got underway Sunday, April 4 when Boston beat New York 9 to 7.
There are several interesting Asian and Asian American players to keep an eye on this year. Here are a few players to keep up with in the box scores or to go see them play when they come to Minnesota.
Baseball, Chinese, International, National, Taiwanese
The Los Angeles Dodgers will travel to Taiwan and play two games against a team from the Chinese Professional Baseball League on March 13 and 14, MLB and the Major League Baseball Players Association announced January 23, 2010 in Taipei.
This will be the Dodgers second trip to Taiwan. They became the first Major League team to play in Taiwan in 1993 when they competed against a team of CPBL All-Stars.
