When you think of human trafficking victims, chances are, you probably think of women in far away places.  But the truth is, there are male and female victims in every country and every state here in the United States.  According to the US Department of Justice, there are between 14,000 and 18,000 victims in this country.  After drug dealing, human trafficking is the second largest criminal activity in the world and is also the fastest growing.

ST. PAUL (June 1, 2010) – U.S. Ambassador to Laos, Ravic Huso was in St. Paul last week to discuss ongoing issues affecting the more than 4,500 Hmong who were forcibly repatriated from Thailand to Laos in December 2009. Huso updated several hundred in attendance at Metropolitan State University Auditorium on the progress of Laos on many fronts as well as the Hmong repatriation issues that have relatives and community concerned in Minnesota.

Provide safety for child sex slaves in Minnesota.

Minnesota Human Trafficking Watch members are asking more people to join the child sex slave crusade and help to introduce a resolution at your Precinct Caucus on Tuesday, February 2, 2010.

People can help by becoming a delegate at their local precinct caucus on Tuesday, February 2, 2010. They can raise the issue and then help to elect legislators that promise to work to provide safety for all child sex slaves in Minnesota.
