Bordallo introduces Visa Waiver Program fixes

Washington, D.C (July 30, 2010) ­ – Guam Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo introduced a bill that would make technical corrections to the Guam-CNMI visa waiver program. The bill, introduced on July 30, would also require the Director of the Bureau of Economic Analysis of the Department of Commerce to compute the gross domestic product reports for Guam, American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Freely Associated States.

Ancient Pågat settlement named an endangered site

GUAM (May 20, 2010) – The National Trust for Historic Preservation has named the Pågat in Yigo, Guam as one of the 11 Most Endangered Historic Places of 2010. The announcement came from Guam Governor Felix Camacho, along with NTHP officials at the Hall of Governors/Latte of Freedom at the Richard J. Bordallo Governor’s Complex in Guam.

Alicia G. Limtiaco named U.S. Attorney for Guam and NMI

Washington, D.C. – On February 24, Alicia G. Limtiaco was nominated by President Obama to serve as the United States Attorney for the Districts of Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands. If confirmed, Limtiaco will become the first-ever woman to serve as a United States Attorney for Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands, and she will become only the third Asian Pacific American United States Attorney currently serving in the country.
