ST. PAUL, Minn. (May 28, 2011) – The threat to the environment and controlling contamination of the air, land and water is the paramount issue facing the health and livelihood of people in Vietnam today. This issue is not isolated to Vietnam, but is connected abroad to Southeast Asia and all the way to the source of water in the mountains of Tibet. It is also spread with the manufacturing and source items of food products.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (May 7, 2011) – In the best spirit of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, members of eleven Vietnamese community organizations gathered last Saturday afternoon at the Vietnam Center to celebrate their shared work in two major Vietnamese language and literature projects.
Nguyen Ngoc Bao will be the guest of Hennepin County Library’s “Author Talk” on April 16, 2:00 p.m. at the Southdale Library, 7001 York Avenue S., Edina, MN 55435. Nguyen and his family escaped the Communist regime of Vietnam in 1975 and relocated to Houston, Texas. His book of short essays, journal entries and editorials “Chuyen Xa Gan” (“Stories Near and Far”) is described as “substantive research” on both classic and contemporary Vietnamese literature.
