L.P.F Projects is organizing “A Walk to Remember: Love 4Japan Project: The Earthquake & Tsunami Disaster Relief” benefit show on Oct. 23, 2011, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seven Sushi Lounge, 700 Hennepin Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55403.

The event combines a diverse group of young, talented people to create fabulous fashion and art events to raise money for people in need. It is designed to give back to the community and provide opportunity for artists while also having fun.

The event is cosponsored by Seven Sushi Lounge and The Model Boutique. Participating designers and entertainers include STYL Designers with Mae Lee, Allilamodie Original Clothes, Khampasith Davison, Mia Vo Collections, Republic Of Couture, On Pont Productions, Sansei Yonsei Kai Dance Group, and DJ DrummaBoi from The Blue ink Promotional Group, LLC.

Masonic triathlon fundraiser

Tri For A Cause, a joint Masonic triathlon fundraiser debuts at 9:00 a.m. on July 16 at the Crosby Memorial Park in Crosby, Minn. The triathlon fundraiser will be a joint effort of the Aitkin and Brainerd Masonic Lodges. All proceeds will go to the Masonic Cancer Fund and local charities.

Kunihiro Shimoji, an international student from Okinawa, Japan studying Political Science at the College of Saint Benedict’s and Saint John’s University, said the March 11th earthquake and tsunami left him in shock and, but that he and others were inspired into a two and a half month relief effort with students, faculty and local community under the slogan “Work as one and make a difference.”
