WASHINGTON, D.C. (Jan. 10, 2012) — The Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus praised President Obama’s appointment Tuesday of Cecilia Muñoz as White House Director of the Domestic Policy Council.
Prior to her appointment today, Cecilia Muñoz served as Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of Intergovernmental Affairs. Before joining the Obama Administration in January of 2009, she worked as Senior Vice President for the Office of Research, Advocacy, and Legislation at the National Council of La Raza (NCLR).
CAPAC Chairwoman Congresswoman Judy Chu (CA-32) said Muñoz brings a record of distinction to her new role as Director of the Domestic Policy Council.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Oct. 14, 2011) — Members of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus and U.S. Secretary Janet Napolitano of the Department of Homeland Security held a recent meeting to discuss issues of critical concern to the Asian American and Pacific Islander community.
CAPAC Chair Congresswoman Judy Chu (CA- 32) said the meeting was an important first for the caucus. She said nearly 60 percent of all Asian Americans are foreign born, and immigration issues are a top priority.
