HONOLULU (May 3, 2011) – Malama Hawaii today announced a new online network. www.malamahawaii.org is the new online resource for the group.
Malama Hawai`i is a partnership of 70 organizations and hundreds of individuals, established in 2000, with a shared purpose of caring for Hawaii’s land, sea and people through networking, collaboration, and effective communication.
The Malama Hawai`i network provides information on green jobs, volunteer, intern, and event opportunities in an interactive website and classifieds system. Community groups and the public can register and add information to the website to share with the network, create groups and their own customized mini-websites/blogs and connect witheach other.
With www.malamahawaii.org, Malama Hawaii is developing and growing a green job and educational opportunity network in Hawaii that brings together information,knowledge, connects people, ideas, job and career resources – and shares the work of our 70 partners with our island communities and the world.
Malama Hawai`i’s Mission: To inspire, and be inspired by, the people of Hawai‘i to M?lama (care for) our island home, through a partnership that enriches our lives and our childrenís future. Our work will integrate the environment, health, education, justice, culture and the economy; and celebrate the strength of community.
Founded by conservation and cultural leaders in 2000, working together to ensure Hawai`i, our special island home, be a place where the land and sea are cared for and communities are healthy and safe for all people.
