MINNEAPOLIS — U.S. China Business Connections will hold its December Breakfast Networking Meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 4,
from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m., at the University of St Thomas, Room MOH 201, 1000 Lasalle Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55403.
On the occassion of Manufacturer’s Alliance Day, the presenter will be Chiradeep (“Deep”) SenGupta, Principal,Trade & Customs Advisory Services (TCAS) FedEx Trade Networks Trade Services, Inc.
Mr. SenGupta will speak on the topic, “US-China Trade: Don’t Let Import & Export Compliance Issues Slow Down Your Supply Chain.”
Presentation highlights include discussion of best practices and pitfalls to US-China trade. For exporters, he will discuss US export controls and how to be vigilant in complying with US export controls when shipping to China. For importers, he will discuss common errors to avoid to ensure a smooth import process, and reduce the likelihood of penalties due to non-compliance with customs regulations.
SenGupta serves on the President’s Export Council Subcommittee on Export Administration (PECSEA) and the District Export Council of Northern California. This presentation is a must for any company doing business in business in China.
SenGupta is responsible for providing international trade solutions and regulatory consulting to governments, importers and exporters within the U.S. and worldwide. Mr. SenGupta also represents Trade Services at conferences, associations and before government agencies.
Prior to joining FedEx Trade Networks in 2002, Mr. SenGupta worked with KPMG’s Asia Pacific tax practice where he helped establish their international trade and customs practice in India. He also advised several Fortune 500 clients on market access issues for their South Asia operations.
In 2011, Mr. SenGupta was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce to the President’s Export Council Subcommittee on Export Administration (PECSEA) to advise the Obama administration on its export control reform efforts. He was also appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce to the District Export Council of Northern California, where he currently serves as the Educational Cha ir since 2006.
